Assign the right board profile before you flash hardware or push configuration that depends on it.

Before you begin

• Confirm the exact board or hardware variant in the device
• Identify the matching board profile in the platform

Steps

1. Open the device details page.
2. Review the current hardware assignment.
3. Select the board profile that matches the physical device.
4. Save the change.
5. Recheck the device summary to confirm the new profile is active.

Expected result

The device now points to the correct hardware profile, which makes the rest of the workflow much safer.

Common mistakes

• Assigning a profile based on assumption rather than hardware confirmation
• Changing the profile after firmware or config work has already started without revalidating compatibility
