Flash from the Browser
Use the Browser Flasher when you want to connect a supported board over USB and flash it directly from CoreSnap.
This is one of the nicest parts of the workflow when everything is lined up correctly: pick the board profile, choose the release, connect the device, and flash from the browser without leaving the product.
Before you begin
- Use a browser that supports Web Serial
- Connect the board over USB
- Know which board profile matches the hardware in front of you
- Make sure the firmware releases you need are already available
Important access note
Flashing and firmware management are not the same thing.
Depending on your role, you may be able to open the flasher but not manage firmware releases yourself. In many setups, uploading app firmware is an admin-only action. If the firmware you need is missing, ask an admin to publish it first.
Steps
- Open the
Flasharea in CoreSnap. - Choose the correct board profile.
- Select the boot package and app firmware for that board.
- Decide whether you need to erase flash first.
- Click
Connectand choose the USB device in the browser. - Review the flash plan.
- Click
Flashand wait for verification to finish.
Expected result
The board is flashed with the selected firmware set and is ready for the next setup step in CoreSnap.
Common mistakes
- Choosing the wrong board profile for the connected hardware
- Flashing before the correct app firmware has been published
- Erasing saved data when you did not mean to
- Assuming every authenticated user can manage firmware releases
